Community Pools

COMMUNITY POOL AT CLU
100 N Overton Ct, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360
The Community Pool at CLU is made possible thanks to the cooperation of California Lutheran University (CLU), the City of Thousand Oaks, and the Conejo Recreation and Park District (ConejoRPD). CLU provided the land and supporting infrastructure, including parking. The City contributed $1.4 million, including a $99,000 federal government grant. CRPD contributed $1.9 million and is responsible for the ongoing maintenance, operation, and programming. The Conejo Valley Unified School District also played an important part in making this pool a reality through the disposition of surplus property.
The 140,500-gallon lighted community pool occupies 4,800 square feet with varying depths of three to five feet. Also included is a 1,350 square foot building with two restrooms, chemical room, mechanical room, administrative area, and a 675 square foot shade structure. Pool is heated up to 84º.
AQUATICS CLASS & PROGRAM INFORMATION
This facility provides a much-needed location for year-round aquatics programming, from learn to swim classes to water aerobics, and is used by community swim clubs, master swimmers, and the local and CLU communities. This community pool, in conjunction with the Samuelson Aquatic Center 50-meter pool, creates an exceptional facility for CLU and local aquatics enthusiasts.
